An opening ceremony was held on November 13, 2025, in Bangalore, India, to celebrate the establishment of Sumitomo Heavy Industries’ first Cryogenics Service Centre in India, marking a major milestone in expanding the company’s service capabilities and strengthening customer support across India and the South Asian region.
The ceremony was graced by Mr. Shinji Shimomura, President and CEO of Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. (SHI), Mr. Tanaka, General Manager of General Manager of Globalization Department (SHI); and Ms. Okamoto, General Manager of the Precision Equipment Group (SHI), along with members of the Board of Directors of Sumitomo Heavy Industries (India) Pvt Ltd. (SHI India).
SHI India was represented by Mr. Hisanori Kira, Managing Director, and Mr. Nakashima, General Manager, Cryogenics Department, whose leadership and support was instrumental in establishing the new service shop. Representatives from some of our customers also participated in the event, reflecting their continued trust in SHI’s products and service capabilities.
The newly inaugurated facility is equipped to provide comprehensive maintenance, repair, and performance checks for Cryocoolers, supported by well-trained Service Engineers who completed more than two months of intensive training at Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. in Japan. Their expertise enables faster response times and enhances service quality for customers in the region.
